Man, these women are nails!!! Have to agree on the least favorite WOD. Had a date with Linda yesterday. Back is still wrecked. Stongly disagree on least favorite lift!! haha. Love those back squats. Just intriqued on some comparisons. She is listed 1 inch taller than Gillian but 19 lbs. heavier? Seems Gillian carries more muscle but only weighs in at 126? Best of luck this year Tanya!!

Please let me be the first to comment on my horrific form in the video! What you were watching was supposed to be a clean and a jerk, not a mutated deadlift hoist to a shaky front squat up into a thrusterish jerk overhead. Since the games I have attended Coach Burgener's Oly Cert which was so valuable and taught me so much that it pains me to watch this video. Not only is it ugly, but I was wasting so much more energy than I needed to on a day when I was already physically and emotionally exhausted.
On another note...I can't wait for the Games this year!

I think we have all felt the pain and frustration of learning the O-lifts. Certainly good form looks oh so pretty. However, with Grace the guidleines (from what I understand) is that you take it from the ground into a full squat, then get it overhead. How you get there doesn't matter. But yes, I agree good technique will certainly save you energy.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes you are correct with the guidelines. Still doesn't make it pretty but that's ok. Go ahead and rip on the gloves it's cool! It embarrasses me to see them. Chest to bar Fran the day before tore open my hands and plain old tape wasn't cutting it that day.
PS-thanks for noticing :)

Tanya, you are one of my role models in Cross Fit! I just started two months ago but it has been slow and steady progress. I have never considered myself an athlete but I am quickly changing into one! I admire your perseverance and drive to be the best that you can be!
