Mikko Salo's 7.49 was done at the European Games qualifier, It was "Heavy Helen" with C2B pull-ups and a 32kg bell. That must have stung a little....

just my opinion but i think helen is the best test of fitness that one workout can show. very impressed with angel's sub 7. amazing for a 200lb guy. i guess if anything helen like shows up at the games the austin crew is gonna clean house.
kris
don't tell carey has a better helen time than you.

As a 56 year old with lots of experience, I have to agree that the Helen is the best I have seen with regards to overall fitness. As a newbie to CF but an active athlete and former coach for young soccer players and runners, I must say this program is great. Best wishes to those going to CA. I look forward to seeing some amazing performances. I am coming from NC just to watch.

the day Carey got her 7:31, I posted a pr with 7:36 (I went about 2 hours before her). That was about 3 months ago as well....
Helen is definitely Carey's strongest performed female WOD.

Carey,
You are a stud with a mental game rivaling the best of the best! You have been an awesome mentor and I admire your discipline and balance in all aspects of life.
Kris, you are the invisible Mr. Invincible. Even Carey can't compete with that. Haha.
Looking forward to kicking it with ya'll next wk!

Does anyone know if/when the first workouts for both the affiliate cup and individuals are going to be released?? I'm assuming Sunday will be kept under wraps until after the first rounds are completed, but I thought I remembered reading that the first couple wods would be released a week early.
Thanks!

i agree with you. those would be great workouts for a competition. don't think any one workout can test all around fitness but helen comes close.

Gillian's time is actually 8:03 according to the athlete profile. The time posted is her Linda time.

Keep these rankings coming. They are very valuable to our affiliate in Eugene Oregon. We use the average Crossfit Games numbers throughout the year as a mark to shoot for and surpass. Some other numbers that would be helpful: Front Squat, Back Squat, Overhead Squat, Snatch, Fight Gone Bad, 5k Run, Grace, Diane, CF Total.
I know a pain in the ass, but so helpful. Possibly even a resource with all the numbers on it after the games are done?

the next time I do Helen, Carey will be going at the same time as me.....motivation enough right there! but having a badass crossfit woman as my wife is pretty sweet though, so I don't lose too much sleep over getting beat by her.
Lindsey
shhhhhh! people might start expecting more out of me....

OK, I'm gonne state the obvious here.
From the times posted to date, the men's race is prety open and you can make an argument for Speal, OPT, Everett, Thiel are consistently good while having specific strengths (Thiel looks super consistent btw)
But unless something goes horribly wrong, Gillian Mounsey looks like she's gonna dominate. She's top 5 in every event.
Obviously, the beauty of this is that we don't know the events and maybe a 10k or really long met con may shake things up but Gillian just looks to be so strong all the way around
this isn't to disparage the other female athletes at all. But Gillian just looks so strong across the board
