The raw speed and power required for the Olympic Lifts can give you a good idea of who might be a top competitor this year. Like the Clean & Jerk, Josh Everett once again takes this category with 270. Rory Hanlin is also right behind him with 255.

For the females, there is a three way tie with 145lbs between Caity Matter, Tamara Holmes, and Dawn Hutchinson. Michele Vieux is close by with 140.

I looks like a lot of the men have at least a bodyweight snatch. It's interesting how a lot of the women don't know how much they can snatch.

Update: 175# snatch was from about 9 months ago. Did it again a couple months ago and got 192# almost bodyweight. Just did a max effort hang power snatch the other day 187#.

This is what I call "confidence booster" :)
.....Maybe I should try a max effort snatch next time before I send my weight to the officials at the crossfit games haha.

@Sean... I am sure everyone knows you can snatch more than 95#s.

While I've never done a max attempt I can comfortably get my bodyweight for reps. Just started doing the snatch before Northeast Quals so I've got lots of ground to make up.

Interesting that most of the guys can snatch BW+ yet NONE of the female competitors can.

What I love about this picture is the fact that you can see the sheer pleasure on Coach Burgener's face. Good luck to all at the games... Hope to be there next year.
