What a terrible interview. You really could have done without the perverted comments at the beginning. Mating with her for genetics? Really??

Come on man, lighten up.

great outlook Lauren-best wishes to you in Aromas!

I am with Jordan on this one. Is there a single interview with any of the men that discusses how sexy and or "mate worthy" they are. She is an amazing athlete - how about we try to stay focused on that.

I can't help but agree with Becky and Jordan. I believe that "stellar" interviewer called Lauren "honey" at the end? Classy. I also believe that the camera physically looked her up and down. Come on, seriously? I don't ever hear this happening to the men being interviewed... "Yes, Josh Everett, honey, good luck at the Games there, sweetie."

Lauren, I appreciated hearing what you had to say. Congrats on the qualifier. Can't wait to see you kick some ass at the Games.

Playoff Beard, what if Paddy was talking to your wife or a daughter in that manner...would you "lighten up" then? I guess we should take into account that, considering his prior performances on CF video, Paddy was either drunk or high or both while making Lauren squirm with his "Girls Gone Wild"-style of interviewing prowess.

Here's yet another stellar example of CF's Best and Brightest, for all the world to see for free. What did Greg Glassman say recently, something about "12,000 affiliates"? As long as the free stuff ain't family-friend fare and makes people feel uncomfortable, that "vision of virtuosity" ain't gonna happen in this lifetime.

Wow, some of ya'll seriously need to calm down. I'm with Playoff Beard, you need to lighten up. Nothing said was degrading at all.

Getting upset because someone used the word "honey" to describe a very sweet and beautiful girl, seems like some people need to hit a WOD to vent some of this anger before posting it all over the internet.

Isnt it funny how all these comments come from women! Must be jealousy...

She IS sweet and beautiful, whats the problem???

It's amazing that when anyone calls out the immaturity or inappropriateness of videos posted, they're automatically told to "chill out". Stop acting like an organization run by dirt-mouthed, horny 18-year old boys and start acting with a sense of professionalism. No, calling a women honey and consistently commenting on her looks in an interview for an ATHLETIC event is not considered professional and it sure as hell isn't respectful to her. It's subconscious sexism you tards. No one is denying that this girl is gorgeous, which she most definitely is. The point is it shows a lack of respect for female athletes to make interviews with them filled with comments about their looks, plus it just sounds stupid. Save your weak pick-up lines for when you're off the camera douche.

I was the first to comment on it and I am a guy. Not every guy in crossfit is an immature pervert as you would have us believe. Grow up. Sadly, this interview is indicative of the prevailing attitude of many who post on this site. By commenting on her looks and her 'mating qualities' the interviewer is performing her a great disservice. It should have been about her athletic accomplishments, and nothing but. The camera sweep at the beginning is laughable.

I agree with the lack of respect towards the female athletes. Lets not forget the interview with Jasmine with the camera on her chest most of the time. Ok, I know there are some great looking girls in this sport, but how about we grow up and treat them like the rest of the athletes.

Incredible athlete. Sleazy interview. Disappointed to see this video on the games site.

I read the comments, and curiosity got the best of me- then I didn't even finish the video. Videos and pictures are what keep me off the main page. While I don't expect I'd ever be treated like Lauren was, in this video, I have to say I hope I don't ever have to put up with that sort of thing. Patty seems creepy.

My Mentor (Greg Glassman) taught me that the best coaches he ever knew looked slightly inappropriate and to never listen to the vocal minority (The lowest common denominator) because their guidance usually led to mediocrity at best.

Intolerance, comes in all shapes and sizes. It is particularity hilarious when it comes wrapped up in righteousness and political correctness.

For those of you who are not caught up in fanaticism and self importance. If you knew the situation and the people....the beginning of that interview would make perfect sense.

If anyone wants to talk to me about it I will be at the games.........look for the RV filled with drugs and alcohol.

Wow, you people really need to lighten up. Stop taking yourselves so seriously. I understand you are all trying to stand up for women-kind and empower them to advance beyond the horrific stereotypes that have maintained an uneven playing ground for far too long, but seriously!! I'm with Patty on this one...

Sounds like offending members of this community isn't a problem for you, Patty. Fair enough. Good to know you'll be at the games, though. Gives those who aren't fans a chance to stear clear.

Patty,

I have never before met you, but have seen you on various different vids from CF.

Just wanted to let you know that I think the criticisms of the Lauren interview are out of hand.

It was pretty obvious to me that you and Lauren have a comfort level that allows you to joke around. She did not respond to you as if you were being 'creepy' as far as I could tell. If I'm off-base Lauren, please tell me.

With regards to the actual content of the interview, you
were totally complimentary to her as an athlete and a leader in the CF community. 98% of the interview consisted of good questions, good answers, and obvious respect for her athletic and leadership abilities. To me, admiration of her looks does not take away from your respect for her ability.

Walking on egg-shells can get old real fast.

So, keep on attracting those that admire your dedication to fitness and enjoy your personality. Judging from your success in the 'real-world,' there are plenty out there who do. Men and women alike.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement- so grateful for your support!!

As for the assumptions and views in regards to Patty's interview- the whole thing was harmless. Like he said, the situation before made the interview questions acceptable and he was merely trying to make light of the situation (situation being that I was nervous and hesitant to be interviewed and dealing with a little mid-comp stress).

Besides if he said something that was out of hand I probably would have clean and jerked him into the minute lube next door.

All is good Patty, see you at the games!!

Patty commented on the quality of her GENETICS. This is a huge compliment IMHO. I train with Patty all the time, he never compliments me on my genetics!

And to Ken, if you are going to talk about 'professionalism', you should consider leaving out the words 'tards' and 'douche'. Just my two cents.

While the conversation leading up to the interview allowed for interviewer and interviewee to be comfortable with the exchange, the viewers do not have that background. Question is, should interviews be a little more straight forward and skip the inside jokes, or do we say the hell with offending our fellow CFers, and put together what we want?

Try again Gomer, it's the people running the business who should be acting professional, that has nothing to do with comments that I leave. Trust me, I am capable of creating a sense of maturity and tact when it's necessary, something that a lot of these videos are incapable of. Patty, good to know your mentor is Greg Glassman, who I'm real sure is acquainted with all the GREATEST coaches of all time...you can't be serious. Being "rough around the edges" in your personal life is fine, people that bring it to work just look stupid. Children whine when they get called out for being inappropriate, it's not a trait that suits an adult very well.
