Peter Egyed (6th overall) from CrossFit Fury shown doing handstand pushups during the triplet on Sunday. This was a bit of revenge on Peter's part. It was the handstand pushups that almost kept him from competing in his third Games. He was 21st in 2008 and 10th in 2007.
Peter was in third place after the first workout at the Great Basin regional qualifier behind Chris Spealler and Eric O'Connor. Peter had a disastrous second workout, which was:
Complete 5 rounds for time of:
Deadlifts x 7 reps (275#)
30 Air Squats
7 Handstand Push Ups
He finished 27th with a 17:34, which moved him from third to thirteenth overall. Speal had the best time of the day at 5:02. Peter got stuck on the HSPU. He was out of the running.
A few weeks later, the Last Chance online qualifier was announced. Peter entered and had the best time overall for the three workouts (19:31), which sent him back to Aromas. He worked hard on the HSPU, and was ready for them when they came up on Sunday.

Peter, you are rugged! That's awesome how you turned things around from the qualifiers, great work!
On another note, I wonder who will have the longest streak of competing at the games? Should be interesting...

I think all he means is that we don't love Speal for his 300# snatch and we don't love Josh Everett for his wicked fast gymnastic movements. Obviously they're not specialists like Phelps is but they are specialists in what they Excel beyond reason at.

I agree as well Aaron, but you have it backwards, Josh Everett has a 300# snatch and Speal is the gymnast freak.
