Oh and I've made it into the background of yet another CrossFit picture. I think that makes it an even 1000 now.

Great work DJ, Andy, Mike, Joy, Lauren and Katie. Good luck in Aromas.
It was a great weekend. The WODs were very challenging and the best overall CrossFitters came to the front.
Thanks to all the organizers, volunteers and athletes. The atmosphere was awesome.

Wow, great workouts! A true test of each component of fitness. Anyone know if OPT will be attempting the 'last chance' qualifier for all those who weren't able to compete in a regional qualy?

P.S. I think I have a crush on Lauren Pryor

What happened to OPT? Did he give up quals for an organizational role?

That's correct. His passion and dedication to being an phenomenal CrossFit athlete translated into putting off an amazing event.

Brick, you are correct, Mike F is James' brother. He actually used to post on as OPTbro even though I begged him not to.

It was truely an exciting weekend. I cannot count how many times I had tears of joy in my eyes watching the competitors tough it out. Having personally seen many of the CF Calgary and OPT Big Dawgs work out it was incredible to see them take it to another level.
Some highlights were Joy's final attempt at the 155 clean and jerk and then watching DJ and Mike finish their thrusters at exactly the same time and head to the chin up bar.
James, what incredible programming as always...a master and the standards were awesome.
Leigh, man how you managed to organize all that is beyond comprehension.
Kris H - top notch job with the media related info.
The judges were also amazing and I am certain speaking very little right now if at all.

I spent a very nice weekend competing with a bunch of monsters. And eventhough I was supposed to go rest in between workouts and fuel to be strong back at it, I just couldn't leave the place. I didn't want to miss a single event, I wanted to be there for my friends. I am very happy to know that everything went well and the wholle event was a complete success. James, Leighanne and the wholle gang from Calgary put together a phenomenal event. Very well done and I think the best way to describe what i saw and what I experienced is to say that this "bunch" are "professionals" at what they do. And they live and practice what they preech.
I missed Brett (also known as AFT), he was enjoying his very few days old new daughter and he couldn't be there. I am sure we will hear from him next year.
