Elyse Umeda was born and raised in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. She lives there now after graduating from Princeton University in 2007, where she played varsity basketball. Elyse is 5'3" with her shoes on.

Elyse trains with Kimo Kockelman at Hardass Fitness, where she is also a trainer after getting her CrossFit Level 1 cert at CrossFit Marina in October 08.

Elyse has been hitting it hard. She has a sub-4 Fran, a 387 FGB, and a 20min Filthy Fifty.

She also deadlifts and back squats more than double bodyweight.

She'll be competing in the NorCal Regional Qualifiers on May 2-3.

You are definitely a badass...just remember to also train full ROM. Many of the athletes at least years games came in with amazing fran, etc. times and got smoked when the refs wouldn't give them credit for their squats and pullups. GL!

Any girl (especially one hovering around 5'2) who gets their name right in the mix of male varsity athletes in the weight room gets my respect! You're going to kick some serious a** out there. When you do, I'm attaching your name to our previously discussed gym chain, regardless of whether you come back to the mainland or not. Tear it up. Love you!

Saw you work out once and all i can say is that there are two words that describe what you do...intensity and commitment. Keep doing what you believe in!

That's my coach! FYI, Elyse is the coach to fear out here-she works us pretty hard. But, she also inspires us because Elyse is proof that we can all "get ours" if we work hard enough. Best of luck at the games Elyse!

Damn I went to elementary school with this one...back then she was a tiny little stick and bones thing with purple eye glasses. The only thing hasn't changed is her lisp...so cute. haha she's going to give me extra burpee's for putting that up.

On a more serious note I like how she recognized all the outstanding CrossFit Athletes out there in her video. I'll be cheering for you at the Games' hun!

Wow, how come my comment was erased? Does the truth hurt? This gryl is so full of herself, well not really. These kind of stuff shows that she is scared. You are right about the lisp Rogue Warrior. She texts everyone she knows, even peeps who don't talk to her. Her friends are laughing behind her back cuz they think it's super duper weird!

She brags about her accomplishments although most people don't care. Then she practically begs them to come onto this site and leave positive comments. If this isn't vain, then what is? the only reason my comments are being erased is cuz it is the truth. Everyone can verify that this happened so it's not a lie. If you are going to do this kind of stuff at least have the sacks to be accountable and back up ur actions. I dare you!

Who has a facebook or myspace with videos of herself working out and a letter from a high school girl? It's like she got to show off for the world. Newsflash, the only one who cares is u and the people u beg to comment.

Wow 25 comments for all the people who texted. Maybe if u never text u probably would have more. No one like a ego-maniac who is full of herself.

Sounds like you must be favored to win the games since you have so much time to talk shit. If you need something else to do maybe wax your upper lip. P.S. you should change your web name. Hawaiians don't use phrases like super duper weird.

Elyse awesome video and I wish you nothing but success in your crossfit future and goals! You will hold your own at the games! Lets get those hips opened at the top or off those speedy box jumps. I'd hate to see you get burned on reps for incomplete ROM. Deisel on E!
