i like how the 1st wod has a "short" sandbag carry but it doesn't give a distance. short could be 400m or 50m. guess you'll have to be there to know....

I just read the movement standards and for the HSPU's you get 2 abmats under your head. That's like 3-4 inches off the ground. Does anybody else think that's a little too easy? I mean, if it were something like "JT" or "Diane" that would be one thing. But it's only 7 per round. I say, get the hairline/nose to the ground.

HSPU with 2 abmats is the scaled version of the workout...not rx'd.

I am participating the Regionals in Nor Cal. I would love to see WODS like this up here. Think its very close to what we will see at the actual Games come July with the Sand Bag carry. Great job to the team who thought these up. I have a feeling we will see nothing like this in a=our qualifier which is a disappointment.

I'm curious how handstand pushups are handled in competition - do you have to be able to do freestanding balanced handstand pushups in order to complete the workout as rx'd? Or will there be a wall or something you can use for balance?

Tried the snatch WOD, took 4:18 although I did 50m farmer's walks with 100 lb. This one will be decided in the carry.

Holy crap, that's 15 bodyweight snatches for some competitors. Sounds like a rousing time.

The HSPU's will be against the wall. Thanks for the kind words on the WODs, I've been working on them for a couple months. We felt like the WODs and the judging will be what makes or breaks this competition. Regarding the distance for the sandbag carry I didn't want to post it until I was here and had measured it out. We'll be posting the distance early tomorrow.

It'll take sub 5 minutes to win the DL workout. I know speal can do all that unbroken. 4m ? That would be incredible.

Is rooting for Speal like rooting for the Yankees? Not a perfect analogy as Speal has earned the fitness and work capacity that he has, obviously. That being said, he's got to be the favorite.
