Jeannie Bassi from Jeannies Beach CrossFit in Virginia Beach, VA grew up in Thailand, where she competed in Varsity sports against 8 International teams in Southeast Asia.

When she was young she was diagnosed with pretty severe scoliosis, and had to wear a hard plastic body brace for over 2 years to keep her spine from getting any worse. She was told that the 38 degree curve in her spine would prevent her from doing most sports. It was then she took action and began doing 'functional' movements in her room: squats, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups. Long story short, she went from a 38 degree to a 12 degree curve by working her muscles properly and efficiently.

She is now a full bore CrossFitter and will be competing in the Mid Atlantic qualifiers on April 25-26.

Whoah, up until this video I thought Jeannie was a bodyweight animal. But she can hit those cleans and deadlifts like a champ! Too bad you aren't in the Dirty South, I'd like to see you compete!

Great video editing by the way, one of the best yet. I was entertained the entire 3 minutes.

GREAT JOB! Video is awesome! Rarely does a video do the justice for an athlete that this video does. Keep up the hard work, continue to do your best, and you will overcome as you have in the past!

You are an athlete!

There are no words to describe what it is like to not only work beside and with Jeannie, but to train her as well! Her drive, dedication, heart and passion for how she trains is second to none, and she passes along every ounce of it to those around her to aid in bettering themselves! She gives it all away and hordes nothing. That's what a real trainer does!

Superior athlete, creme de la creme of trainers and a dear and loyal friend!

No dout she will be giving 110% of her best at the qualifiers, as she does each and everyday in all aspects of her life!
love you grl!

Amazing video...chick is a straight beast! Have middle finger burpees replaced clapping burpees for the '09 games? Haha, that'd be interesting to see!
