Jimi Letchford from CrossFit Laguna Beach is a beast of an athlete, finishing 25th overall in the 2008 Games. Jimi works for CrossFit HQ, helping manage the CrossFit Store and Operation Phoenix.

Jimi is also a part of the traveling CrossFit Level 1 certification seminar staff. Last summer (July 27, 2008) at a seminar at CrossFit Brand X, a few of the trainers and two participants headed to Rubio's for a little eating contest. Six fish tacos for time, any liquid intake you want, none required. Jimi literally tied Dave Brewer at 6:13, easily beating Pat Barber, Tony Budding and Libby Dibiase. They went to the wrappers for the tie breaker, and since Jimi's were immaculate, he was awarded the victory. Adrian Bozman created a little video of the experience:

Jimi was an instructor at my Level 1 Cert and is really an inspiration to all CrossFitters. Props to you for all that you do for the Marines and we'll be cheering for you at the Games.

Not just a great athlete, and a great instructor, but a class act! Check out the increase in Operation Phoenix $$$$$ since Greg's run!

I had the good fortune to have had Jimi as my trainer at the level 1 cert I attended in Valencia and mentor at my level 2 in Manchester, England. We pounded out the "death by grace" wod with Todd Widman, Andy Stumpf and Kempie before it was posted on the mainpage which was great fun and then managed to get out and paint the town red. He's a top athlete and an all together awesome bloke to be around.

Jimi, hope to get to see you at some point this year. Good luck at the games!

Take its easy(or not)bro, Leon.

Rubio's!! I grew up in San Diego, and Rubio's is, hands-down, the best in the world. Every time I visit, I eat there at least once a day.

Good luck at the Games this year... and no matter how you place, at least you're the Rubio's champ (and we all know what really matters).

It was good to meet you at the Affiliate Gathering. Thanks again for all that you've done with Operation Phoenix! I was amazed to hear the other half of the story regarding MCCS, but I am not at all surprised.
That taco challenge was pretty funny, and it looks like you're gonna be a monster at the Games this year--if I am still in CONUS this summer I'll be there cheering you on!
