James Hobart is absolutely phenomenal, and in my mind, what crossfitting is all about. During his thruster/burpee heat the announcers paid him no attention until they realized he had won... and he was even BETTER in the final WOD. I watched the final heat from the first row and was amazed by his performance. Surrounded by larger, more muscle-bound competitors, he somehow destroyed all these WOD's that inherently favored the large and muscle-bound. Not that James is a small guy, definitely not... he just quietly dominated. An incredible performance. I hope they put together some video for those who weren't there!

Interesting to note that having a world record Fran isn't enough to qualify.

Looks like a great event. I hope to be there next year.

Is there a typo on the final results or a miscalc?... According to the results R.Orlando, scored a 7.03 rounds on the first wod, but was scored as if he completed 9.03 rounds. If the results are accurate, he should have totaled 356 total points. Unfortunately, that would knock him out of the final spot. I'm hoping the 7.03 is a typo.

Rob Orlando did complete 9.03 rounds, that is a typo.

Congrats to all the competitors and winners!
It was a great experience with some great displays of power and wind.
Watching Lauren E's last WOD was truly amazing. She wasn't super fast but she was so consistent and steady [and bloody :)]. It was inspiring - thank you and congrats Lauren!

Great job Hobart and kaplan. I watched both of your final performances and they were incredible.

Thanks to all the judges and everyone who contributed to make the NEQ's a fun and trying time.

Big thanks and tons of credit to Jay, Neal and Dave and the rest of the volunteers and judges. You guys rock. Awesome weekend, awesome event, awesome people.

Huge Congrats to Heather K from CFNE! Watching you train the last several months has been an inspiration. YOu earned that spot for Aromas and that trophy. We know you're gonna kill it out there!

Also, bug congrats for impressive performances from James and Stacy from Boston, Lauren from Milford, and the rest of the qualifying athletes. YOu guys deserved your spots and will definitely represent the Northeast well. Good luck!

Finally, and most importantly, thanks to Ben and the rest of the gang from CFNE. I've never met a harder-working, more supportive group of people. It was an honor to compete with all of you, and a bigger honor to train with you all every week!

Totally agree on the comment about James. He seems to be one of those "wolf in sheep's clothing" types. I'm sure that he won't get the hype of a lot of the other big names in Aromas but watch out for this guy!

Congratulations to everyone who qualified. You all really accomplished something when you consider the caliber of competition in Albany. Pretty amazing some of the names that did not make it into the top 5.
