SledgeLineup.jpgThe Row/Sledgehammer/Row event at the 2009 CrossFit games was arguably the most varied event of the weekend. It involved all of the 10 general physical skills, with a particular emphasis on accuracy and coordination.

Almost all the competitors were accurate and consistent when they struck the stake softly. Only a few were able to connect with the stake at full force. Most were somewhere in between. The difference is the ability to maintain accuracy at higher levels of intensity.

We will be featuring videos of this event in the near future (both men and women). This video by Sevan Matossian is a series of clips that show what went on behind the scenes of the event.

That was a blast!!! Once again, thanks to all the people, judges, volunteers, etc, etc that made the Games possible.

I piggy back on Pat Sherwood's comments.

At the beach 2 weeks ago a guy was using a mallet to pound his umbrella stake into the ground- I know I could have done it faster and more efficient than he did since I now have the "unknown and unknowable" experience.

Continued thanks for all the great coverage of the 2009 games.

And that was just a quick glimpse of the hard work and effort put in by the coordinators, judges, and volunteers all weekend long.

Hearing that voice..."one minute...athletes one minute" or "3-2-1..." uhhhh it's an instant nervous belly ache all over again! No lie, I've had nightmares since the Games and Dave Castro's voice is in all of them!
