Final event is 5 rounds of 75# snatches and wallballs, high volume but reps haven't been determined yet. It was on the CF radio.

Why hasn't the WOD been decided yet? I'm sure it's not the case, but it makes me wonder if they are seeing who out of the "favorites" is low in the standings and to structure the WOD to help boost that individual.

@7, Kat, they specifically said they were going to wait until the last minute so that the athletes would have the honor of being the first to perform the WOD.

So the athletes should at least know, just don't release it to the public.

Unknown and Unknowable! Who knows! I'm sure it has been "decided" by the HQ staff.

I never said there is cheating... re-read my post... it says "I wonder if".

What's the big deal? Announce everything before. Is it really going to provide an advantage? You are either ready or you are not. Next year - let everyone know. Planning for everyone will be a lot easier. Also, who cares who completes the WOD first. I don't think people intentionally cheat, but why tempt the fates?

Watch out for Pat Burke, he is a machine.

I am in favor of giving the finalists the honor of completing these creative workouts and let folks like me try and compare later or next day.

These guys are special let them set the benchmark.

I'm not surprised by the positive vibe out there, having been part of the community, but I am disappointed by the knuckleheads that sound like . . . well . . . knuckleheads.

Any chance these broadcast are being recorded for later posting on the Web?

Hack is a pretty special athlete, I expect that the wall balls is a discipline he will crush. Don't be surprised if he is among the leaders after #5 - - if not #1.

"Why hasn't the WOD been decided yet?"

Surely you're not assuming that CFHQ staff and the programmers of this event are out there just winging it. Your 'what if' scenario doesn't apply because the workout has been decided upon well ahead of time, just not disseminated yet.

And to those who are wondering what the big deal is with making sure the competitors are the first to do the workout...well it's a big deal to the people who organized the event. And I'm sure it's a big to the competitors to have the honor of being the first. It would be for me.

Last WOD appears to be 5 rounds of
30 hang power snatches 75lbs
30 wallball.

Spealler from Salo, anyone?

I'm usually pretty stoked on CFHQ and the 2009 Games have been nothing short of action and inspiration... the only problem... the "live" coverage stinks. I'm sure we'll see some great post Games stories and vids- no doubt, but Mike Warkentin and the rest of the PR/IT team are leaving much, if not all of the CrossFit community in the dark. My suggestion would be worry less about waxing poetic prose or creating slick video clips and just tweet it, Flip phone it, etc. give us some raw stuff now and the rest will follow. I'm relying on http://twitter.com/crossfit305 though @Roadtothegames has improved.

The twitter posts have been great. I'm not sure what some of these people expect, or why they feel so entitled.

I'd suggest you take a look at http://search.twitter.com/search?q=+%23crossfitgames+OR+from%3Apotomaccrossfit for the types of updates/frequency I'd expect from CFHQ. Enjoy the games.
