Yes, the Movie is still being finalized. It's very close. It has already been invited to three film festivals. They are working on getting the DVDs finalized. Here is what Carey Peterson (one of the directors) posted on the main site comments the other day:

The wait is nearly over. I know it seems like you have been hearing that forever, but this truly is the case now. The movie itself is DONE. We are now working out the final bits and logistics of distribution (DVD construction, cover artwork, etc). At the same time we are submitting the film to a few dozen film festivals around the world with the hope of exposing more people to the amazing program and community that is CrossFit. Stay tuned as we hear back from festivals. We will be sure to announce screening dates, time, places, etc. as soon as we get this information Attending one of these festivals may be one of the best ways to first see the movie (big screen, real theater sound, etc) and one of the best ways to support the movie and CF. How cool would it be to pack out theaters around the world with amped up CFers?

Some of you may have heard about or been at one of the 'test screenings' over the last few months where a few lucky folks were able to get an early, sneak-peak at various unfinished versions of the movie. Until this week, the movie was not in it's complete and finished form and almost no one has seen the finished version.

Sevan and I want this film to be finished and available to the community and world more than anyone. This has been a labor of love for both of us for the last 8+ months. During that time there has been only a handful of days where hours and hours of work weren't being put into the movie. We are crushing this movie, and it is actually being completed on a pace and schedule that is incredibly fast for a project of this size.

We are stoked on the enthusiasm that the community has for the pending release of the movie.

Hang tight. It's coming and it will be worth the wait.

AMAZING!
One of the best trailers... maybe because it is of one of my favorite CrossFit "celebs". Really motivating leading up to the qualifiers for th 2009 CF Games.
Are we going to see a movie about the women of CrossFit based on this year's games? :)

James is the prototype for what a crossfit athlete should be. Through watching & talking with James I've learned that crossfit is and can be a sport and not just a fitness program that looks like sport. If you want to know the lifestyle & commitment you need to live to achieve your potential (for anything sports/buisness/fatherhood) you'll spend some time analyzing Fitzgerald.
Much respect my brother in fitness.

This trailer made me more excited than yesterday's "Hecho en CrossFit" photo.

I think Josh pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Although there are many great athletes in the Crossfit community, I don't there are many (if any), who have a level of commitment as high as Jame's (from what I've observed anyways).

Keep up the hard work James, you have many future and present crossfitters to inspire for years to come.

Carey and Sevan,

can you make sure the movie is released in Australia at (or near) the same time as its USA release? I don't know how all these things work, or why, but massive amounts of 'big box office' movies get released in Aus 3-6 months after they open every where else. I don't think I could take it....seriously, every second counts.

I was extremely lucky enough to see this at FilFest and now can't wait to see the finished version! The one we saw last month as affiliate owners was first rate in every way and will crush any film festival competition. Great work and the CF community will love this for sure.

Are there women featured in this movie? I heard somewhere that someone said there weren't. Seems odd. Can you clear it up?

I have nothing to do with this film festival (so it's not a formal invite).

OPT's hometown has a film fest in September. I'd dig a chance to get to see it play in the CIFF! And considering it was partly filmed here...

This is the submission page at their website.

Good luck with the film! (And I hope to see it in the CIFF!)

I had the pleasure to meeting James, his bride, and Geoff Aucoin (Gee Ohcoin!) at the Games. Can anyone forget the thrill of OPT's sub-7 "Helen" at the original HQ? Well, watching him (and Josh, and Speal, etc.) at the Games last summer topped that by a mile.

Can't wait to see the movie Sevan and Carey!

Can't wait to see the sequel this summer either OPT!

rumor has it that the reason the release of the movie has been delayed is Sevan decided take a break and do "linda". Rather than going his usual route and scaling the wts down to that of a 2nd grade girl Sevan decided to do linda rxd and 3 months later he is now closing on on the round of 1. Don't worry he should fly through that round and get back to working on the movie.

I was two seconds from saying this to the group at FilFest, but this is an outstanding creative accomplishment.

With all the other superlatives that it deserves, "Every Second Counts" is a very clear and accurate depiction of what CrossFit is. Not slogans and sweat angels, but the core values of a powerfully transformative lifestyle.

This isn't a workout movie. This is a layered character study to which any person can relate, and gain inspiration. In our eyes, it is already a success, and to the rest of the world it will be the first major media impression of what CrossFit really means.

Phenomenal accomplishment guys. Thank you.

The world of CrossFit is coming to town , and is going to blow the ''fitness'' industry apart.
Solid!

Sevan, I think if anyone could pull-off the pink tutu and still be a bad-ass it might be Everett! He is one of those "nice guys" you would make the mistake of f-ing with whilst hammering the lager a tad bit too much and end up thrown thru a plate glass window. (via a quick and powerful "snatch" that many did not know could be used for self defense purposes) Sport the tutu to the games Josh, I'll start the pool... I think I could spare a $10 spot to see him do the WOD in a tutu. Anyone else donate to that cause???

Just saw it. It's a good look into the lives of the athletes featured, but mostly I was left wondering - where are the women? The film makes it seem like we just aren't there at all, or we're the wives who pat the men on the back when they have a hard time... wtf? Crossfit Games isn't a mens-only competition. If Jason Khalipa is the fittest person on earth, is Caity Matter just chopped liver? Just seems a very strange choice, and to be honest, rather alienating.

here, here, olivia! i just watched the movie last night and was really angry by the end of it. the only shots of women were gratuitous T&A shots or supporting men in their hard work while standing beautifully by. very disappointed. i had to google the topic today and found this post, very late obviously.

Again, late to the party, but I have to weigh in with Olivia and Katrina here. I just saw the film last night and to have not included any of the high performing women as central figures in the film seems like a terrible and unfortunate oversight. I assume this means a sequel is being planned? :)
