Ed Rockowitz and Joshua Tucker (pictured with Jeff Tincher from CrossFit Fairfax) from Ahhh Massage offered round the clock massage therapy to the athletes (and the occasional volunteer) at the 2009 Games.
They did amazing work, many of the athletes commenting on them being the best body work they'd ever had. Several even credited them with the sole reason they were able to complete all the events.
Joshua talks about CrossFit athletes and their bodies, and the general benefits of massage while working on first place female finisher Tanya Wagner.

Josh is THE MAN! He helped me out with a incredibly tight back post DL event and probably 3 or 4 other times throughout the weekend. He and Ed were keeping track of who had the most athletes attain PR's after being on their tables. I thought that was pretty awesome in its own right.
Josh,
Thanks for all your help. It was really great to hear how passionate you are about what you do. Hope to see you next summer!! I'll be in your line for sure!

Kudos to you fellas! Thank you for all you two did to keep my body moving.
They worked hard all weekend and their tables were always full. After that first run I didn't know how my calf was going to make it...and then I found Ed and Josh. Although, I will admit at some points I felt like it was another wod just getting through the pain of the massage :)
Thanks again for all your hard work, hope to see you both again next year!

nice work guys.
i'm a bit sad that i didn't take the opportunity to experience wut must have been some amazing bodywork abilities by these guys. just allowed myself to continue the tradition of "the massage therapist that doesn't get massaged."
when the day arrives that i can't compete at the Games, i would love to be alongside guys like these providin therapy to the CF family!

These guys were awesome. I can't remember the name of the guy that worked on me - it was the chap in the photo though. I'd agree that it was the best soft tissue work I've had done, but wow was it painful! The muscles have recovered but the mental scars still remain!

Josh saved me that day. This picture was the first of 3 times I was on his table that day. I was very thankful for their services. I am convinced I wouldn't have been able to complete the rest of the workouts on Saturday if not for Josh.
.....also, beware when he tells you he is going to use "the Russian Method" on you...

I've been to two massage therapy sessions in the past couple weeks. My shoulders have tightened up to the point where overhead stuff is a problem. My MT says I have "shoulders of steel!".
Needless to say but absolutely necessary: It f*cking hurts.

Josh and Ed,
Thanks to you both for being so giving the entire weekend. It must have taken so much energy to keep that up for so many hours a day. Ed-- you were absolutely the reason I was able to move again on at least 2 occassions. Thank you, thank you.
And to think that all of that was volunteer work!
