Three-time Games competitor Jolie Gentry won the games in 2007. She placed fifth in 2008.
This year, she earned seventh place. With her finish, she also earned the award of Top Military or Law Enforcement Competitor of either gender, just beating Marine Patrick Burke, who finished eighth.
In this video from CrossFit by Overload, we see a showing of her best moments at the 2009 CrossFit Games and her award ceremony following the events on Sunday. Viking Tactics gave her a pistol of her choice, to which Jolie replies, "You guys are definitely the coolest sponsor we have."
Viking Tactics offers shooting and tactical training to a wide variety of law enforcement officers, military units, and civilians.

No, that comment was a question about what pistol she chose. I used the same phrasing from the video and the article. If I was trying to be cute, I would have put a little winky face ";)" or something else to help interpretation. You can check all my other comments on this site and none are inappropriate. I use my full real name and email address, unlike you, who makes bold assumptions with an incomplete name and fake email address.

What happened to Brian Chontosh? He finished 2nd at the SoCal Qualifiers but wasn't at the games. Is he deployed or something?

Steve Willis - 4th Placed Male is in (or certainly was until very recently) in the Australian Army - is he not eligible for this award?

IIRC, VTAC awarded Jolie a certificate for a Smith and Wesson pistol of her choice. No idea what she'll pick - but Smith makes some nice stuff. M&P 9 is a good shooter, and would make a good duty gun (if her dept. allows it). They make a pretty solid 1911. The 340PD is a superb little backup or deep carry gun. And, they have some nice rimfire toys, too... She's got a nice variety to choose from! :)

Jolie you are an incredible athlete and person. The accomplishments you have put out for the last 3 years are practically impossible for many to even attempt. Just the mental toughness of working through each of these 3 years wears on you more than anyone can ever imagine. Loved running side by side with you on that miserable 7k. Congrats again on another great finish. Thanks for being there for Tanya when she was feeling the pressure on Day 2. Best of luck with your future endeavors and hope to see you again soon.

Had the pleasure of being at the finish line for her final WOD on Sunday. It was inspiring to see her determination and focus as she finished the last half of "the chipper from hell"
Congrats Jolie!!

David, I'm with you. Based on the video, I'm curious as to what she chose as the pistol of her choice.
Jolie,
What did you choose as your prize from VTac? Competition or Duty Gun?

i really wanted this snub nose revolver with night sights and a laser grip from their M&P line, but after receiving the certificate in the mail, it looks like i might be limited to more of a duty weapon-type .45 semi auto. Any free gun is cool with me. Although i was hoping to get a bitty thing to throw in my purse!

Brad,
Steve is no longer in active service.
Michael, I read in the reams of comments that Chontosh was unable to compete due to commitments with his job.
Jolie-any-free-gun-is-cool-with-me-gentry awesome is all I can say :-)
